Jeff Wagner loved being a federal prosecutor but got a little bored in private practice, so he hit up WISN for a fill-in gig doing talk radio to pass the time in a more interesting way. He never expected it to be a full-time gig, but he’s been on the airwaves talking about conservative issues in Milwaukee for more than 20 years. “The Jeff Wagner Show” now holds down weekdays from noon to 3 p.m. on Newsradio 620 WTMJ, where Jeff has covered topics from co-sleeping deaths to pit bull terriers to Covid-19. A Marquette University Law School grad, he oversaw many of the state’s major narcotics and organized crime cases in the `80s and early `90s, and was the 1994 Republican candidate for attorney general, running against Jim Doyle, who would go on to become governor. Jeff has also used his platform for more personal outreach. When he lost his wife Susan to cancer in 2016, he led a WTMJ Cares initiative, speaking with cancer patients, doctors, nurses and researchers about their experiences. The project helped raise awareness about cancer screenings.
