Sarah Ditzenberger is a person of faith and wanted to express that in a visual way on the day that we made her portrait. She said the country is in a “new place now” and talks about a need for healing, and that was before Covid-19. She fundamentally believes in people but sometimes loses faith in our capacity to be able to speak to one another – and to listen – respectfully, she says. Sarah has been the co-owner of the welcoming and whimsical variety shop called Fischberger’s, 2445 N. Holton St., serving the Harambee and Riverwest neighborhoods since 2006. The store sells creative goods, including Stranger Things novels, candy sushi, a Ruth Bader Ginsburg Workout Calendar, Frida Kahlo puzzles, and yarn, notions, plush toys and plants.
